The Minister of Transport added that the railway and infrastructure are being developed, as 10,000 thousand km of track (current lines) are being developed and raised, and a group of new lines are being constructed, a number of which have been completed, such as the Al-Ferdan/Bir al-Abd line, and work is progressing on the Kafr/Daoud Sadat line to be completed. During the coming period.

He explained that the signaling systems are being developed on the main lines, as the Cairo/Alexandria line has been completed and a number of sectors of the Cairo/Aswan line have been completed, and work is progressing in the rest of the sectors. Work is also progressing on the Banha-Ismailia-Port Said line and the Abu Kabir link, and there is a plan to develop signals on the suburban lines. .

He continued: “The workshops are being developed and supplied with all modern equipment, and cooperation is being conducted with international companies in developing these workshops. The current human element is being rehabilitated and new elements are being selected according to the highest selection standards, and a suitable work environment and distinguished social and health services are being provided for the workers.”
