The year 2024 is drawing to a close, after many achievements have been achieved in various fields. Among the influential bodies in terms of their activities and activities in the life of the Egyptian citizen is the Social Solidarity Directorate in Dakahlia, the details of which we are reviewing over the course of an entire year.
Achievements, activities and events of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Dakahlia
The Directorate of Social Solidarity in Dakahlia achieved many achievements, events, and activities throughout the year 2024, the most important of which are:
– Inauguration of the mobile medical convoy of the Raei Misr Foundation for Development to provide medical services to families in need of care in Dakahlia Governorate and the Health Directorate on January 2, 2024.
– Continuing the implementation of the training program “Positive Family Education” within the framework of implementing the National Program for Early Childhood Development, and implementing several workshops to train nursery facilitators at the Belqas Center for 32 facilitators and training parents for the positive participation of 50 parents on January 3, 2024.
– Participation of Dr. Wael Abdel Aziz, Dakahlia Solidarity Agent, in the activities of the Conference on Promoting Agricultural Business in the Egyptian Countryside in partnership with civil society organizations within the framework of implementing the “Food for the Future” project on January 9, 2024.
– The continuation of the “We will deliver to you” campaign in Dakahlia Governorate to issue one million integrated services cards at the Sinbellaween Tamai Al-Zahaira Rehabilitation Office on January 10, 2024.
– Receiving a new batch of “food and sacrificial food” meat, with a total of 2.5 tons, to be distributed to the families most in need of care among those entitled to solidarity and dignity provided by the Ministry of Endowments and distributed under the supervision of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Dakahlia on January 15, 2024.
– Launching a free medical convoy to examine liver and digestive system patients at the Manzala Center within the framework of implementing the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s interventions in the targeted centers of the Decent Life Initiative. The convoy included examining 387 patients, conducting analyzes for 85, x-rays for 52 patients, and dispensing free treatment for 248 on January 20, 2024.
– A report was presented on the disbursement of 4 million pounds in aid to families in need during 2023 at the governorate level, from the Social Solidarity Foundation in Dakahlia, according to the different categories, after studying each case and conducting the necessary social research on January 22, 2024.
The public meeting was held in cooperation with the Family Guidance and Counseling Office in Mit Ghamr Al-Musnad for the Kunooz Al-Khair Association under the slogan “Violence begins with an idea with awareness that we can confront it.” The symposium was attended by 60 women and girls, and a number of social figures and representatives of civil society organizations in Mit Ghamr on January 22, 2024.
– Holding a media symposium entitled: “The legislative and regulatory framework governing the policies taken to control population growth” under the slogan “Your Family is Your Wealth” for the development of the Egyptian family, in cooperation with the State Information Service, in the Office Hall of the Social Solidarity Directorate on January 22, 2024.
– Convening the technical committee formed to nominate and select the ideal mother in Dakahlia for honoring as the celebration of Mother’s Day 2024 approaches. 39 ideal mothers were presented to the directorate, and the conditions were met for 24 mothers, including 19 ideal natural mothers, and 24 ideal mothers with children with special needs. On January 24, 2024.
– Delivering 15 wheelchairs and pedal bicycles to people with special needs from Dakahlia, whose cases were examined in coordination and cooperation with the Al-Islah Charitable Foundation, on January 24, 2024.
– Implementing the plan for positive cultural and educational activities provided by the Ministry in the field of early childhood development and preparing an educated child, and during the celebration of the Egyptian Police Day on January 25, 2024.
– Honoring students who have memorized the Holy Quran.
– Participation of homes and clubs for the elderly in Dakahlia in various competitions and recreational activities.
– Implementing the “We will deliver” campaign to issue one million integrated services cards.
– The final stage of implementing the social business incubator at the Gamaleya Center in cooperation with the American University and the Gas Company concluded as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to empower women economically and in implementation of the Egyptian state’s plan to achieve sustainable development. 30 female trainees were trained in the sewing profession using the latest scientific methods so that they can create private projects. They now have an average monthly income of 5,000 pounds. The trainees were given certificates for passing the training, and the top ten were given advanced sewing machines, each priced at about 25,000 pounds, at a total cost. 250 thousand pounds.
– Holding Family Day activities.
– Implementing free medical convoys in cooperation with charitable societies at the level of Dakahlia Governorate centers.
– Disbursing compensatory devices and aids.
– Distributing ready-made meals to the most vulnerable groups and organizing religious and cultural seminars and trips to historical landmarks in Dakahlia in conjunction with the Isra and Mi’raj event.
– Implementing “mawada” training activities and establishing camps for young people about to get married.
– Holding various workshops at the headquarters of the Social Solidarity Directorate.
– Holding committees to examine grievances submitted by citizens wishing to obtain an integrated services card.
– Holding scientific meetings in cooperation with the faculties of Mansoura University.
– Delivering economic empowerment projects to a number of vulnerable families.
– Distributing food cartons and food to Takaful and Karama families registered on the database of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Dakahlia.
– Implementing cultural and recreational activities for children’s nurseries and orphanages.
– Raising the efficiency of furnishings in nursing homes for adults and the elderly in cooperation with charitable societies.
– Distribution of Ramadan bags and cartons to families in need of care and financial support amounting to 2.6 million pounds, in addition to in-kind aid, meat and food supplies.
– Signing a joint cooperation protocol with the local federation of the Dakahlia Trade Union with the aim of improving the quality of services provided by both parties to citizens and using social and cultural clubs to spread community awareness.
– Forming committees to visit orphanages and elderly people throughout the month of Ramadan to ensure the availability of food, review its suitability, distribute new clothes to the children and lanterns for Ramadan decorations, and give them care and attention.
– Participation in the distribution of sacrificial instruments.
– Implementing the “Waei” program for community development for women social entrepreneurs to raise their competencies and introduce them to the most important societal issues that the program addresses.
– Disbursing an amount of 250 thousand pounds in aid to 810 families in need of care during February 2024.
– Honoring outstanding people with different abilities.
– Inspection visits to orphanages and the elderly.
– Honoring memorizers of the Holy Quran.
– Disbursing 443,250 pounds to 418 Eid boys and girls, and a cash clothing allowance to all children in care homes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on April 8, 2024.
– Preparing a database of pilgrims from the public lottery and organizing a meeting with pilgrims and supervisors of the Hajj delegation for civil society organizations.
– Honoring outstanding students in mental arithmetic.
– Participation in the activities of the training course for judicial police work for employees of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
– Implementing the training program “Positive Family Education”.
– Organizing the activities of the “A Nation Without Disabilities” initiative.
– Organizing the “Movement is a Blessing – Youth, Young at Heart” marathon activities for the elderly.
– Launching a series of awareness seminars in cooperation with the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund to protect society in general, and young people in particular, from the danger of drug addiction.
– Launching an integrated convoy to Halayeb and Shalatin in cooperation with Mansoura University.
– Organizing the activities of the “No Illiteracy with Solidarity” initiative in various social departments.
– Launching of the integrated food and supplies convoy “Bridges of Goodness – 21” for Halayeb, Shalatin and Abu Ramad.
– Disbursing 400 pounds in aid to vulnerable families during April 2024 at the governorate level, benefiting 1,030 families, and providing the necessary humanitarian aid to families, including marriage assistance, prosthetic devices, wheelchairs for the disabled, and economic empowerment projects.
– A training program for workers in women’s hosting and protection centers.
– Organizing charity exhibitions for ready-made clothes in cooperation with charitable societies.
– Organizing workshops for family, childhood, and social defense workers regarding the controls for licensing small homes for child care in cooperation with Save the Children, with the aim of providing quasi-family care as an alternative to social care institutions in order to achieve the best interest of the child, which is an important step in the alternative care file.
– Completing the registration and placement of 6,463 public service employees, graduates of institutes and universities, to perform public service for a year, and they were directed to a number of ministries and government departments.
– Disbursing the necessary aid to the families of the victims of the residential building collapse in Mit Ghamr, with the presence of Red Crescent teams to assist the afflicted families.
– Implementing Family Day activities.
– Launching “Mawaddah Al-Damja” training activities.
– Beginning the work of the Ministry of Solidarity’s property and assets inventory committee to monitor the actual reality of all properties of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Dakahlia, in the presence of the Central Assets Committee of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
– Distributing 100 tons of meat to the most vulnerable families at the governorate level for those who register high levels of poverty in the database of poor and near-poverty families of the “Solidarity and Dignity” cash support program.
– Launching the National Day of Female Circumcision activities in the city of Talkha.
– Launching activities to celebrate Eid Al-Adha.
– Launching the activities of the “Father Role Model” initiative.

– Holding activities to celebrate June 30 under the title: (June 30, the revolution of construction and development in the new republic).
– Developing a comprehensive rehabilitation center for people with special needs in Mansoura, assigned to the International Muslim Youth Organization in Mansoura, initially with 5 million pounds; To serve the people of the governorate with special needs in treatment and rehabilitation, providing physical therapy services, early intervention, psychological tests, skills development, behavior modification, learning difficulties, speech, aquatic therapy, and workshops and training halls.
– Receiving sacrifice deed payments throughout the year.
– Implementing meetings in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity with the management of the Productive Families Association to discuss mechanisms for enhancing economic empowerment opportunities and expanding productive families’ exhibitions.
– Organizing educational seminars in various fields, including institutional efforts to combat corruption.
– The Social Solidarity Foundation’s report presented the disbursement of 219 thousand pounds in aid to families in need of care, from which 793 families benefited according to different categories after studying each case and conducting the necessary social research for it.
– Holding coordination meetings to follow up on the implementation of the investment plan projects that were developed based on the proposals and vision of the technical departments, the instructions of the Ministries of Solidarity and Planning, and the directives of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Solidarity on the necessity of completing development plans and creating a comprehensive development boom aimed at integration and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
– Opening of the Family Development Center in Kafr Al-Ayadiya in Sherbin Center. It is considered one of 5 centers established within the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” on an area of 1,500 square metres. It contains many activities: (an advanced nursery, a garden, a unit for communication and developing children’s skills, and a unit Physical therapy, training workshops, training halls, a literacy class, a family planning clinic, and a affection training hall).
– Delivering marriage aid within the “One Hand – Shop of Joy” initiative to 20 brides, distributing 7 electrical appliances to each bride, with a total of 140 appliances provided through cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Orman Association, the National Alliance, the Long Live Egypt Fund, the Decent Life Foundation, and Misr Al Khair.
– Starting a project to raise the efficiency and develop the vocational training center at the Mansoura Productive Families Association, located on Galaa Street, at a cost of 3.3 million pounds, which includes workshops and training halls, a center for preparing and training sewing work for girls and women with breadwinners, and displaying their products in the association’s exhibition.
– Providing a CB wheelchair equipped with harnesses and a 10 liter oxygen generator for two cases of atrophy and quadriplegia in cooperation with charitable societies.
– Developing a work plan that includes developing and simplifying the procedures for announcing associations, following up on the work of the departments in the social administrations, preparing a procedural guide and the documents required for all advertising procedures, obtaining public benefit status, and other services provided to civil society organizations.
– Organizing medical convoys for children.
– Coordination meeting to establish mechanisms for developing and governing social rehabilitation procedures in Dakahlia Governorate.
– Organizing workshops on marketing strategy in working women’s service centres.
– Implementing a health campaign to care for residents of social care homes in cooperation and coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent.
– The Social Solidarity Foundation report presented the disbursement of 177 thousand pounds to families in need of care during the month of June.
– Launching Citizenship Week activities.
– Organizing recreational trips for nursing home residents
– The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity received a delegation from the National Investment Bank to discuss the implementation of the investment plan projects.
– Opening charitable exhibitions.
– Organizing “A New Beginning for Human Building” events.
– Launching the “You Are Not Alone” initiative and distributing school bags and educational materials for free on the occasion of welcoming the new academic year and reducing the burden on the families in need of care.
– Implementing a series of awareness seminars on the importance of green spaces.
– Celebrations on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday.
– Delivering 10 mobile and fixed prosthetic limbs below the knee and below the elbow to those eligible for prosthetic limbs in Dakahlia Governorate.
– Launching the “They Are Happy with Their Bag” initiative under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Development Action, in cooperation with the Orman Association and under the supervision of the Social Solidarity Directorate.
– Under the chairmanship of Dr. Magda Galala, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Social Solidarity Council in Dakahlia, the Council was approved to finance 2 million pounds to distribute student aid to the incapable and those in need of care throughout the governorate and implement economic empowerment projects that aim to empower deserving families economically and enhance their capacity. To rely on themselves and improve their standard of living.
